You've Picked a Target Market and Product...Now What?

Now that you know your market and have one or more products selected to promote, it’s time to look at your options for online advertising. Before you spend your hard earned money; you need to understand some basics.

1. Free advertising seldom works.

2. Use tried and tested methods in the beginning, Oh, did I mention free advertising seldom works?

3. Do not advertise to sell the product. Advertise to sell the click to the site.

Here is a brief overview of advertising method's that have been tried and tested and work very well.

A. PPC Pay Per Click

Pay Per Click advertising is where you pay a search engine to display your ad whenever someone searches on a keyword on which you have bid. You get charged everytime someone clicks the ad, not everytime the ad is displayed.

There are many search engines that sell PPC advertising the largest is Google Adwords.

The keys to success with PPC are:
1. Choose keywords carefully (using the same methods you used for picking a productor target market. A handy tool for this is WordTracker .

2. Control how much you bid for each keyword.

3. Control your overall budget.

4. Monitor the success or failure of your program every day.

Training that I have found very beneficial is Pay Per Click Domination by Mike Dillard.

B. Ezine Advertising

An ezine is basically a newsletter that is delivered, via email, to a list of people that have subscribed to that particular newsletter. There are thousands of newsletters, on the web, covering any topic you can think of.

I am sold on ezine advertising because you can know in advance that your ad is being read by people that are interested in your products. When you match your product to their interest, you have the making of a booming business.

Give both of these methods consideration as you decide where to spend your advertising dollar.

As always, contact me with any questions.

We are here to help.
