Three Proven Steps To Starting Your Online Business

So you want to set up an online business?

No doubt you’ve gone on many sites to garnish information. You’ve probably heard claim after claim of “getting rich quick”. You have heard terms such as: affiliate marketing to MLM to cash gifting. It can be very confusing to those who have been in the Internet Marketing or Network Marketing industries for years, let alone a newbie to the industry.

Though I’ve had many questions asked, the primary questions seem to be:

1. Can I really make that kind of money?
2. What’s the best way to make that kind of money?

First, while results will vary from person to person, bottom line, yes you can make that kind of money.

Second, just as there are thousands of different products out there; there are many systems and techniques used to build very profitable online businesses.

I would like to share three steps, which every person wanting to build a business online, should take to assure their success.

(Over the next few articles I will try to explain the different techniques and or systems implemented to further your success.)

Step 1. Understand Your Product or Service. This is one of, if not, the most important step to assure your success. When you understand your product or service, you will begin to understand why people would buy what you are selling.

Understand your products and services will help you find the right people to market your product to. (your marketing target group)

While most advise not to be ruled by emotion. I find if I am passionate about a product, or service, or MLM (which offers both). Then it is not hard to find a group of like minded individuals that will be passionate about the product as well.

Step 2. Identify The Right People. You must identify your target market; this will make it easier to grow your business. Identify a group of people who have a need for you product or service.

Example: If you want to market engagement rings you would target the age group in which the largest numbers of weddings take place.

An excellent tool tool for identifying markets through keywords is Wordtracker. While this tool does cost money. It is a premiere tool for performing keyword searches etc. They do offer a 7 day free trial. If you decide to use this tool to identify your target market be sure to watch the tutorial offered on their site.

Another good tool to use is called Good Keywords. This tool, while not as powerful as Wordtracker, is free.

I have used both and found both to be very useful in identifying target markets.

Step 3. Have An Effective System. This is very important to the growth of your business. Having an effective system will determine whether or not you are able to grow your business. Your system should be able to effectively find the right people or attract them to you.

Example: I know of a jeweler in Texas that quit advertising their diamonds. Their business has more than tripled through the implementation of attraction marketing principles.
